Romania: Leroy Merlin reports 20% growth

In 2019, ADEO-owned Leroy Merlin Romania, the second player on the Romanian DIY market, increased sales by more than 20%, in the year in which the French retailer registered over 12 million clients in its stores. The retailer launched in February 2020 the new communication campaign “1001 projects together”, that focuses on the quality time with family and and involves the employees of the company.

Romania: Leroy Merlin reports 20% sales rise

In Romania, Leroy Merlin has increased its sales in 2019 by more than 20%, to around €500m. More than 12 million customers entered the currently 17 stores. These figures have been reported by Frédéric Lamy, CEO of Leroy Merlin Romania, in an interview with the Romanian industry service He also expects double-digit growth rates for the year 2020. The company, which belongs to the French Adeo Group, is working on entering e-commerce. It is already testing its click & collect offer in two stores which is expected to be available in all locations by March 2020. The opening of the 18th Leroy Merlin store is lined up for the next few months. The chain is also already working on the development of the 19th location.
