The DIY Platform

The DIY Platform is an initiative launched by EDRA members who wish to collaborate on sustainability challenges within their shared supplier base. The main aim of the Platform is to help suppliers make long-lasting improvements to the labour and environmental standards in their own operations. Through membership of the DIY Platform, retailers commit to sharing best practices, collaboration and working together to generate improvements in their supply chain.

The DIY Platform is made up of representatives from Obi, Adeo, Kingfisher, Homebase and Bunnings.

Why collaborate?

  • Through the Sustainable Development Goals, the business community is being asked to do more to address concerns about labour and environmental standards in the global supply chain.
  • Policymakers are encouraging industry sectors to learn from each other and show they are open to sharing good practice.
  • Consumers are saying they want better access to information about the products on the shelf, and the conditions they are made in.
  • Our sector will develop a stronger voice on sustainability in support of our advocacy with global institutions, national and local governments, industry associations and NGOs.
