Japan: Cainz Begins Selling their Private Label Products on Amazon Japan.

Cainz has been strengthening its e-commerce (EC) business in recent years, focusing on click-and-collect, a fusion of real stores and e-commerce, and the Cainz Online Shop, launched in 2006, offers approximately 550,000 items for purchase and is the largest Cainz “store”.

The company has now taken the step and decided to open a store on the Amazon Marketplace Japan in order to make Cainz known to even more customers. The store will handle only private label products, starting with 1,000 items, with plans to add more items as they become available. Among retailers in Japan, there were two main types of companies: those that developed EC only on their own websites and those that opened stores on EC platforms.

For Cainz, opening a store on Amazon represents a major shift in its EC growth strategy.
