Cainz: Open Kameoka Store in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan

Cainz opened their Kameoka Store in the Kyoto Prefecture in December 2021. It is one of the largest stores in the area with 505 private parking space and a sales floor area of ​​8634m2.

In addition to a wide range of products such as DIY tools, pets and bicycles, which are Cains' strengths, the store also focuses on agricultural, industrial and horticultural materials, liquor and renovation products, which are in high demand in the local community.

Prior to the opening, Cainz signed an environmental partnership agreement with Kameoka City, which aims to become an environmentally advanced city. The city will promote various initiatives for environmental conservation. Specifically, as part of its efforts to eliminate plastic, Cainz will:

  1. Promote the use of paper bags instead of plastic shopping bags and the use of "My Bag-customer's own bag"

  2. Promote the use of "My Bottle-customer's own flask" and increase the number of label-less bottles

  3. Use corrugated cardboard for display fixtures in the remodeling corner

  4. Switch to paper for containers served at their café directly operated by the store. 

The company has installed dedicated contactless "CAINZ PickUp" lockers where customers can place orders online and pick up their items at their convenience. The store also has a dog park adjacent to the store and has introduced a "Smart Dog Run" service, which allows users to check the status of their beloved pets whilst making reservations via the Cain's app.
